FAQ

Good questions.

How much does it cost?

From £340 per window, including a free home measure, your made-to-measure Sunhat and fitting by us. Larger windows may cost more. We provide a fixed quote before you decide.

Where do you measure and fit?

We currently offer home visits and fitting in Chelsea, Fulham and nearby. Email us with your postcode to check whether we cover your address.

Do I need to measure my own windows?

No. We check and measure your windows during your free home visit and bring fabric swatches.

Can I fit it myself?

For now, every Sunhat is measured and fitted by us.

Can I still open and close my windows?

Yes. Both sashes open, close and lock as normal with Sunhat fitted. We check compatibility at your measure.

Will it damage my windows or brickwork?

Nothing is drilled or fixed to the building. Sunhat sits within your window frame and can be removed without permanent alterations. We check the condition and suitability of your windows before fitting.

Can it be removed seasonally?

Yes. Sunhat is removable. We show you how to remove, store and refit it during installation.

Can you fit upper-floor windows?

We fit from inside the room, without outside ladders or scaffolding, subject to checking safe access and window suitability.

What about wind and rain?

The fabric is water-resistant, but Sunhat is a sunshade rather than an all-weather shelter. As explained on our homepage, we have tested it in winds up to Beaufort 5 (roughly 19–24mph). Fold it back when stronger winds are forecast and follow the care guidance supplied at fitting.

Do I need permission?

Check any lease, tenancy, listed-building or conservation-area restrictions before ordering. Requirements vary by property and local authority; we can discuss the product at your visit but cannot guarantee that consent is unnecessary.

What fabrics can I choose?

We bring available fabric swatches to your free measure so you can choose against your own windows and brickwork.

What guarantee do you offer?
